在零售數據拖累美元走軟，韓元升破 1130 價位，一度來到 1128.63 韓元兌 1 美元，日圓則貶破 111 價位，盤中來到 111.25 日圓兌 1 美元，而新台幣兌美元 18 日早盤在台股開紅及韓元升值下，一度來到 30.021 元、升值 5.4 分，目前在 30.06 元震盪。
也由於日圓貶值、新台幣偏升，使得日圓兌新台幣換匯價今日一開盤就跳水來到 0.2727 元，即新台幣 1 元可換到 3.6670 日圓現鈔，也創 7 月 18 日以來新低價，7 月 17 日盤中曾見到 0.2721 元。
不過，若與 9 月 8 日盤中日圓兌新台幣換匯高點 0.2811 元相較，當時新台幣 1 元只能換到 3.5575 日圓現鈔，今日新台幣 1 元可換到 3.6670 日圓現鈔，若以換新台幣 5 萬元，就差了 5479 日圓現鈔，等於省了快 2 張東京晴空塔門票錢（成人含天望甲板加回廊門票 1 張 3090 日圓）。
